I got this kit from Amazon. I ended up using a total of 3 cans of black and about 1.5 cans of clear.

Looks nice! I was debating on doing this versus plasti dipping the aero caps. Newbie question... Did you tape the tire out to protect it from paint?

That's a pretty big gap between the tire and wheel well.

I did the same. The standard wheels without the Gemini caps look great.

If you put the covers back on will the plastidip get scratch up? or is it tough enough to withstand that?

I'm sure plastidip would get scratched up if you put the covers back on...those are held in place by friction with plastic tabs....which rub directly against plastidip. That would surely get scratched.

If you plastidip the wheels directly, you are not planning on use the covers after that. Currently I went with the opposite approach, and plastidipped the covers.
