Benefits to Charging Slower?

My S makes no easily discernable sounds while charging. I haven't just stood there and strained to hear it, but it makes less noise than my Leaf which has some very small fan running (to cool the charger itself I assume because it isn't even as noisy as a computer fan) or the Roadster which is downright noisy.

It's not very noisy and you need a very quiet environment to hear it. It's the pulsing sound of a low-RPM pump motor, nearly matching that of my swimming pool cover pump.
