Best 19 tires replacement

I put a set of QuietTracks on the car today. I was considering the Michelins, Pirellis, Yokos and Contis and finally settled on the Bridgestones. My initial impression is very positive, they ride very smooth and they are by far the quietest tires I have ever had on any car. This is my fourth set of tires on this car and this includes 21" Contis, 21" Super Sports, 19" MXM's and now the QT's. I have a running total for energy usage, so I'll do some comparisons to see where the car settles for consumption with the new tires. I'm also departing on a 4,000 mile road trip, so I'l have some great data collection in the next couple of weeks. Based on the ride and noise, I'm looking forward to these tires.

It will also be very interesting to see how far they go before they need replacement, so far the longest I have got out of a set of tires was 22,000 on the Super Sports which was only cut short by uneven tread wear caused by an alignment problem that I didn't catch in time. Oops.

I purchased the QuietTracks at Wheel Works in Walnut Creek, Ca and they did a great job on the installation. They are very familiar with Teslas and know the routine with jack mode, torque and tire pressure specifications. They have done several rotations and tire repairs without selling me a single tire until now. Highly recommended.
Curious if you have any efficiency with the QuietTracks? My local Costco just got them in stock and was considering purchasing but efficiency is a factor for me. TIA for info

IN COLORADO- the oem goodyears need replacing - i am thinking a better all season even though i run winter tires on sep rims: in colorado its so odd sometimes where it snows one day or 2 and then melts and is very dry for weeks or months even so the snows get worn down fast.
I heard nokia is very good with all weather? but also want something recommended by tesla,

So it teams from this thread, the top tires people used here are (not in any specific order)

1. Avid Ascend GT
2. michelin primacy mxm4
3. pirelli cinturato p7
4. michelin pilot sport as 3 plus

Of them which offer

The best energy
- Winner?

The quietest
- Winner?

The best Handling
- Winner?
i am also curious about this- read thru this couple yr old thread and hope people who replaced tires years ago can comment now on their findings and is anything new in tires out there to consider?

Just finished the road trip and I put over 3,800 miles on the QT’s traveling between the San Francisco area and Calgary, Ab. My overall average consumption for the trip was 307 Wh/mi which compares to my overall average since I owned the car of 319 Wh/mi. I was using 312 Wh/mi in A Better Route Planner for the estimated consumption at 65 mph and that seemed to provide accurate numbers for the trip planning.

I’m still happy with the tires. On the trip we saw everything from 100+ degree temperatures to heavy rain. The tires worked well in all conditions, the only downside I’ve noticed is a tendency to track on deep rain-grooves on some pavement. The pavement on I-5 in Southern Oregon seemed to grab the tires the most, but it wasn’t to the extent of being bothersome, just a side to side movement most noticeable on sweeping bends.

Do they seem noticeably more quiet than your previous tires??

Interesting info on the GT champiros GT UHP, and $84 a tire? That's crazy!

I'm getting close to replacing my OEM's and have been looking at Falken Ziex ZE960 A/S, but they are double the price.

Whoops- I just realised that I crossed over into the S forum, Let me get back to the 3 side of the internets...

And why are ya'll running all-season tires in the middle of summer? Model S deserves better if your the type of driver that utilizes the performance.

Where I live snow is almost unknown, and I should be able to get by with summer tires all year.

I was actually looking at possibly the Yokohama Advan Apex V601. I think they are pretty new and haven’t been reviewed much, but the price is good, and I could take a gamble on them. My Roadster came with Yokos, and I’ve stuck with them, and they’ve always been good.

Currently at America's Tire right now (in Southern California), replacing all 4 at 90k miles with 4 Falken Pro G5 Sport A/S. Was assured by tire specialist that Falkens are a good brand. I'll just take his word for it. They do come with a 45k mile warranty whereas the Good Years didn't. Will come back to this thread the next time we need tires!

How has your experience been with the Falkens? I drive about 25k/year, all highway with no snow as a possibility, so my requirements aren't too high and the price seems attractive.

I think they are quieter, but this is not scientific and I'm comparing the sound of the new tires to the sound of the old tires which were worn and possibly louder than they were when new.

Planning to buy the Quietracks at COSTCO on Tuesday. Just checking before I spend $1,152. Do you have any complaints or disappointments at all with your Quietracks???

Thanks for the help!

Now that their cell phones aren't selling I guess Nokia has to do something with them :D
FWIW, both names are taken from the city. Nokia is singular and Nokkian is possessive IIRC. The two companies are historically related, originally a pulp mill. There are now several unrelated companies that spun off from successful diversification of that original pulp mill.

Off-topic, I know.

Did you get them installed? Thoughts?

Yes, had them installed last Thursday. Can’t tell any difference in noise fro the OEM Goodyears that came on the car. Ride and handling seems fine. What has “shocked”me is the huge difference, so far, in the wh/mi.That has gone from 303 for the first 40,000 miles, to 339 after the first 1000 miles on the Quiet Tracks. Normally, I can make the trip from my house to Nashville on a single charge. Definitely was unable to do that over the weekend. Gonna continue to monitor it for a few more days. If that continues to hold, I’m planning to go back to Costco to discuss switching to Michelin’s. No idea if they do that.
