... another Rad here. There are two MS in my group, but we're the only ones in the whole hospital. I'm sure all the docs think the rads are making too much!

BTW, I think you'd be surprised how much the MR techs make. They are only surpassed by the specials techs.

I am a radiologist in the East Bay/SF. First Model S in the hospital was a pathologist with a Signature black (late 2012), then a cardiovascular surgeon with a pearl white (Jan 2012). I'm #3, and there also is an ENT (black) and a cardiologist (white). No other rads in my practice yet, but 2 reservations for Model X. Still many BMW/Mercedes/Porsche in the lot. The ChargePoint spaces are filled with Leafs & Volts. Just got the hospital to add 4 SemaConnect chargers (240V 30A)--less expensive than ChargePoint--and the spaces are in the doctor's lot/floor with proper signage.

Have you checked how much your sono techs make with overtime/call?

I am the only physician here driving a Tesla, but the radiologists have 3 Teslas--all in their MRI!

I have given test rides to a gastroenterologist, a pediatrician, and several radiologists, but no sale yet. Guess I should stick to my day job. I did clinch a sale to one of my best friends, who's in a much higher income category than docs. My wife, who's an internist, has also given rides to her colleagues. We are doing our best, Elon!

They are probably struggling to pay for the 3 Tesla MRI; should have bought 3 Teslas (or Tesla stock) instead!

About a month ago I went to see my G.P. about a cough I'd been having. He asked "how've you been?" I responded that I was loving life since my TSLA stock was rocketing up. He said "Tesla huh? Did you see my Model S out in the parking lot? I've had it since December, I was waiting 3 years for it!!!"

Turns out my own doctor is a Tesla nut like me, only he has the car already and I don't... in fact he was way ahead of me (Tesla didn't really come on to my radar 'til the end of last year).

He is SUCH a Tesla nut that he insisted on giving me a 20-minute ride in it after we were done with the medical business!!! Which was a lot of fun of course, esp. since it was raining and I wasn't used to such acceleration in the wet.

He says he constantly evangelises it to other people and thinks he has "sold" about five cars. LOL

Ophthalmologist here. I'm waiting for either the Model X (if they don't make it too big) or an AWD Model S.

Retina/uveitis specialist here. Only roadster or tesla I've seen so far in the Dallas area hospitals. Can't wait til my sig X comes!

Timothy--it is really interesting to me that as a radiologist I speak the word Tesla multiple times a day when dictating MR reports. See:

Tesla in my hospital, Tesla in my garage [Archive] - Tesla Motors Club - Enthusiasts & Owners Forum

Heh! I remember learning about NMR in physics at Berkeley in the 60s. I thought, "Gee, that's interesting. I wonder if it will ever be good for anything?" And 20 years later I found out!

Looking at your link reminded me of one of my favorite Tesla license plates: 10K Gaus. Not many will get it, but I sure got that Tesla grin when I first saw it!

xray, I'm guessing you're a radiologist too. Any other radiologist Tesla owners on the forum out there? I have had my P85 for about 5 months, and absolutely love it! My only concern has been the 21 inch wheel, which looks great but is easy to damage (already dinged by my dad on his first, and last, test drive:eek:), and the tires wear quickly. I'm still the only doc in town with one, as far as I know, but an MRI tech just got his recently- they must make more than I think.
@MSPRad. Wow. I snoozed and missed a whole bunch of posts on this thread. Yes. I am also a radiologist also. There's another guy in our rad group with a Tesla but the other Teslas at the hospital are owned by various other specialists. And I know that others are waiting for the Model X since that's more what they are looking for.I'm pretty hard on the rims myself, especially the passenger back rim gets dinged up all the time. I keep thinking I should get it repaired but I figure I'm going to ding it up as soon as its repaired so I'll just live with it.

Not sure if you use Powerscribe, every once in a while, it will do a word transposition and "Tesla" will pop up indadvertedly. I think it's trying to tell me something.

Several in my group bought Tesla stock (and I didn't), so they tease me that I bought the wrong Tesla.

Another radiologist here but I'm in Miami, FL. Had it since July 10th and I love it. No other Teslas in the hospital parking lot. I got a matte wrap and am thinking about upgrading to some aftermarket wheels. We'll see.

My main hospital has 6 ChargePoint hookups in the garage, open to all and free (with a ChargePoint account & card). Thus on a daily basis they are fully occupied with Volts & Leafs. I lobbied facilities management and they just installed 4 SemaConnect hookups on the physician parking floor, which will be locked down (card needed and physician only):

Per the picture is says "PHYSICIAN EV PARKING ONLY" at the top--hopefully that's not the case, as ALL EV's should be able to charge, not JUST docs. If so, you may want to get them to remove that.

I'm just tickled it doesn't say "provider" like everything else does.
Ugh! Don't get me started! The OGM for both CVS & Rite-aid just changed to reflect that shift from "if you are calling from a doctor's office" to "if you are calling from a provider's office"! I guess everyone "provides" something! :cursing:

texex91--if you read my post, there are 6 pre-existing ChargePoint hookups open to all comers (no charge/$$--pardon the pun) with a ChargePoint card. Physicians were getting boxed out and also had to park on upper public floors, thus the new stations on the physician parking floor.

xray--you are in CA also. The hospital should be promoting good health, pollution reduction, etc. Maybe send them a link to this post....

Hope the Docs fill them up with Tesla's!
