I had a 2015 Audi A3 with Bang & Olufsen sound system prior to my M3, and I feel like the A3 had cleaner mids and highs and definitely stronger bass (with zero rattles!)

I think the best test is “Please Don't Ask About Barbara” by Bobby Vee. 1959, I believe. I only have the mono version but some of my friends have said the stereo one is just nuts good.
Here’s another good one: Percussion, keyboard intro, followed by timbale solo, then a strong bass and beat in 6/8. Next is a nice rhythm guitar, some horns, then the vocals from the one and only Luther Vandross.
I can't flat out disagree with you because I have never heard the Bose in a Leaf but.... I've had several of their systems in various cars including my last Vette and they leave a lot, A LOT to be desired. Lacked power all around especially the low end. I mean when there are sayings about the system like 'Blowse' and 'no highs, no lows, must be Bose' I would think it is hard to argue but maybe you found the needle in the haystack.
