Beta - is it worth it?

I would go. We drove 4 1/2 hours to see the Beta, as we had been following for almost 2 years, and walked away with a deposit. Even after seeing many, many pictures, I did not feel that they give the car justice. But seeing it in real life, I think you will have a new appreciation for the car. Make a family trip out of it, and take your camera.

I wouldn't voluntarily go anywhere that requires four hours in a car with a 19 month old unless it was REALLY worth it. Plus, having taken young kids to a couple of events (it's only a 10 minute drive for me to the Tesla store), I end up chasing them around the store and tending to their needs instead of being able to take a good look at the car and ask questions or speak with the Tesla reps there. If you're going to make a trip anyway when they have RCs to test drive and look at, why make the trip twice?!
