Big news for NJ buyers

This is phenomenal if you live in NJ and purchase a Tesla. Not only does NJ not charge sales tax for EV’s, they’re now offering up to a 5K rebate of $25 for each mile of range up to a maximum of 5K.

With $5,000 rebate and tax exemption, New Jersey poised to become electric vehicle leader
Is the pot capped ?

Addendum: Per the OP's article
The rebate is funded through the state’s already established Clean Energy Fund. The rebate program would continue for 10 years after its start, and can’t exceed $300 million from the fund.

That sounds like an extra ~ $200 million into the Tesla coffers,
and another 10,000 EVs on the road

I'd like to see an incentive for installing a home charger. That would help get more of them out there...

At some point, it will be seen as an amenity, and people sprucing up a house to sell might add one to get a better price.

NJ will provide $500 towards that, and the federal 30% tax credit for installing one was just RETROACTIVELY extended to Dec 31, 2020.

So install one this year, get $500 from NJ, and then 30% back from the feds. It’s a GREAT year to buy an EV in the Garden State!

- No sales tax
- $5000 NJ incentive
- $500 NJ charger install incentive
- 30% federal charger install tax credit
- (for any EV but GM/Tesla) $7500 fed tax credit

Hyundai Kona EV sure looks like a nice cheap commuter car ... but then you’re driving a Hyundai.

Oh yeah? Well... in PA we have to drive to TWO different stores to buy wine and beer, so how bout dat? You can keep your $5k rebate and various solar incentives and a general plan to address climate change. We got a literal town and underground on fire we’ve got so much sweet sweet coal.
/s
? You can buy beer and wine in any PA supermarket. (unless the municipality is dry)
