Bike roof rack for all glass '18 Model S

Hi folks,

I ordred the all glass Tesla roof rack, should arrive this week.

Now I was about to order a Thule bike rack but after messaing them they responded none of their roof bike racks are compatible with the official tesla roof bars.

What do u guys use as bike roof racks that works on tesla bars for all glass roof ?

This post Car flex and losing a roof rack with bikes? scared me away from a roof rack. I'm aiming for installing a hitch.

However, since you've already ordered a roof rack, everything I've been reading - seems people really like 1up products. Of course - those positive comments were related to the hitch rack. Hope they can help - at least as a point of reference or consideration.

The Tesla Pano roof rack was sold at one time with whispbar accessories. Here is a link to the product which I believe is pictured with the glass roof rack:

I use Thule Criterium racks on my S — have never had a single issue.

The only issues I've had are with the Whispbar attachment. Long story short, the clamp that holds the bike's downtube sucks. I'd go with a Thule or something else.

I've driven from North Carolina to Colorado three times with bikes on top of the car.

The pics make it look like you are in a random parking lot out in CA somewhere... Is there anyway to secure the bike to your car to prevent theft, or do you just roll the dice and take your chances?

You're correct about a random parking lot, was dropping-off a quick package at UPS store

Re theft, there are 2 options:

1. remove the rack and place everything in trunk. to setup / mount, take about 3 mins and removing is even faster.

2. sea sucker sells various locks / cables that clamp into your trunk / door.

personally, i just go with #1
