Blended Braking System

I'm used to engine braking, so switching to regen was natural. The brakes will last a very long time which means less maintenance and it's associated costs.

It's a car, stop asking it too be a swiss knife.

I keep thinking back to MME's going down a steep Italian road found dead on side of road, can't handle their own amount of regen...

I personally think that the regen system we have in our Teslas is awesome just the way it is. I have a MY so I can’t select the regen strength like my buddy can I’m his M3.
But, the max setting that is set by default (can’t adjust it) is great after you get used to it. I agree that it’s akin to downshifting. The guy who said this must have a good idea of how to properly use the regen system. It’s all about foot control. I can get my MY to come to a complete stop from 80 mph on every freeway off-ramp without touching the brake pedal consistently.. It just works.

I love the braking system. You have complete control of the speed. If you're coming fast into a curve you just back off slightly with the accelerator then power through the turn. No more lifting of the accelerator and tapping the brake. It also works great in stop and go traffic

Why doesn't Tesla have a blended braking system? A blended braking system could feed in more regen and have a more consistent one pedal driving experience.

Have it set to regen to hold so the only time I need to actually hit the brake is when I'm going to "too" fast.

Read the rest of the thread. I'm not just talking about blended brakes, but also blended regen. That way you have consistent one-pedal driving regardless of SoC or weather conditions.

If you really like OPD, wouldn't you want to be able to do it all the time?

blended brakes are disgusting. no room for discussion on that concept.
just sayin. it's been done. it is bad. I'm very bothered by this subject more so than just about any EV related stuff. so not just going after you FYI..

Thanks for the clarification. People tend to go quick into personal attacks on this forum. I've had really good experience with blended regen, just wondering if its in the works or still into consideration.

I don't think the implementation will be bad. We experience automated braking in autopilot or FSD.
