Blendmount’s website shows one designed for the Model 3 as being in production and available Q3 this year. I’m wondering if there will be a way to use that Blendmount once it’s sold and tap into the rear view mirror for power. I have an Escort Passport Max radar detector I’d like to use.

(Present community consensus; no inside info.) No switched 12v has been found in that area. There is a light-duty constant 12v that can be tapped for light loads, but for switched loads it's better to run a lead from the extra available output on VCLEFT.

I was told by a delivery center employee that I could void my warranty by tapping into the mirror. So I had a professional wire it directly to the battery (with fuses on both - positive and negative terminals. He attached a relay so the detector powers down when the car is not running. I’m very happy with the job he did - the wire is barely visible (tucked it behind the headliner).

Does anyone know if 2 BlendMounts will work on the mirror? Looking to mount my Valentine One & a BlackVue 900. Have called the sales # and left a message, but gotten no response back.

Thanks
I asked BlendMount if it is possible to install both their radar and dash cam mount for a dual setup
and they replied with "There is not enough room on the mirror stem of a Tesla Model 3 to fit both mounts. At this point in time, we do not have a method for using both devices at the same time."

I'm slowly piecing together the install of my Uniden R3 with the Blendmount. I have the Uniden remote kit which has a separate box with mute button, power led, and alarm led. The Uniden remote is a 3 cm x 2 cm box but finding a place to put it was a bit of a head-scratcher. So I decided to put together a 3d panel to mount in the console just behind the phone tray. Since I also have a wireless charging mat I thought I would incorporate additional USB power ports as well as a 12v socket. The panel will be the same width as the phone tray and the front of it will have 2 USB ports, Uniden remote, power swithc for Uniden, and 12v socket. The back of the panel will have 2 more USB ports to power the Qi mat. The panel will be mounted using magnets so I can pull it out if I need to reach behind it. Here's a 3D drawing of the panel.
