Nice how journalists can turn a non-story into a story. After all, they've been sold out of next year's planned run for some time now. And technically, since the Signature is not sold out yet, they're not sold out of next year's run yet.

Technically, yes, next year's run is completely sold out. Even if they didn't sell another Sig, they'd still have the total production run sold out.

Now, who actually receives the cars could change via Sig reservations.

That interview was fun to watch. =)
ehh... Let's just say Tesla definitely sold fewer Roadsters than they had said they intended to back in 2006.

That's why I think the next roadster will definitely have at least vestigial seats. The 2-seat with a single golf bag sized trunk was just too impractical for most folks.

It looks like Elon is scared to death from BYD competition :)

No, I think it's the Spark that has him worried.

I wish he'd been a bit less derogatory towards BYD. He's not wrong, but it would have been better to play up Tesla's advantages ("we think we have a better car, both technically and aesthetically") and leave off bashing BYD.

Mr. Musk looked confident about the success of the Model S and TM going forward. As for BYD, I do not see the interest from the consumer.
