Utter click-bait article in my mind: it is a bit like the articles comparing a potential future FCV with an existing (2 year old) BEV: As soon as an article starts to compare an actual product to something that "may" be reality in future, I stop reading.
Also, let's not forget that VW is a company of petrol heads: their CEO Winterkorn infamously said that it is physically impossible to construct a BEV that will go more than 100 miles just a few months ago. I hope for the sake of our children that VW will change course at some point but right now, I don't see them do that at all.
