Bluetooth “device type” on iOS? Make a difference?

Like most people using Bluetooth technology, every now and then we have the dreaded “holding” the handle of the model 3 hoping it will unlock soon.

On iOS in the Bluetooth section, does it make any difference what I set the “device type” to be? Anyone experimented here?

I don’t have issues with the phone key, and there’s no device type selected for our Model 3.

I understood your question and selected the same as you as a guess lol. Seems to work fine.

That Bluetooth connection is for the infotainment system not the phone key

Good to know. So the reason that a iPhone 13 (set to primary) and iPhone 13 pro max always yield priority to the max is technology related? Once my wife gets close to the car with her max pro but myself set as primary, she still always wins.

What gives here?

That’s not the connection that is used for the key. That one has a different, really weird name. Mine starts with Sfe8b and goes on from there. If you don’t see it listed, you may not have it setup as a key.

No, I didn’t set the device type to anything, and no device type is selected (no check mark).
