Bluetooth Audio Codecs

I was curious what audio codecs are supported on the Model 3 for Bluetooth media streaming since the quality actually seemed pretty good. I thought I'd share my findings for folks who are also interested. From past threads, it looks like the support is the same as the Model S and X.

I logged the Bluetooth traffic as the phone and car negotiate what codec to use and determined that the car supports the baseline SBC and also AAC (both MPEG2 and MPEG4) at every conceivable sampling rate. It does NOT support Qualcomm's proprietary aptX codec. When paired to the Model 3, an iPhone chooses the following codec for Bluetooth streaming: MPEG2 AAC LC Stereo, 44.1khz, variable bitrate @ 256kbps peak
