Err they do realise that (allegedly for the conspiracy theorists out there) the computing power needed to put someone on the moon in 1969 would be totally out-gunned by that in your average mobile phone?

No they don't realize that. You are quite right. The average modern smartphone has orders of magnitude more computer capability than the Apollo computers, and of course it costs a tiny fraction of the Apollo ear computers. The difference is staggering.
Your smartphone is millions of times more powerful that all of NASA's combined computing in 1969
 
FWIW: last winter in CO I encountered a team from Bosch testing the system. they were based at a hotel I was staying in. the guys weren't too open to discussing their plans and as soon as the sun went down the test convoy hit the roads.
