Sorry that you feel that way. You haven’t actually provided much in the way of specifics, (including those words), making it pretty tough to understand the problemDreadful. Extremely unpleasant.

I don’t have my car yet so can’t check myself but doesn’t the suspension adjustment screen provide the ability to individually adjust compression and rebound damping?IMO, the Plaid could be over-dampened, whereas the P90D was definitely under-dampened.
It does, but it doesn’t do any good. In fact, you can’t tell the difference between the softest and hardest settings. The sliders move, and the graphics change on the dampening screen, but the feel in your butt remains the exact same. At all ride heights. It’s subjective, of course, but I took the tech and SA with me and both said they can feel the difference, but it is almost imperceptbable. So yeah, it’s “within spec”, but the ride sucks.I don’t have my car yet so can’t check myself but doesn’t the suspension adjustment screen provide the ability to individually adjust compression and rebound damping?
Completely agree with you. When I had a P90D as a loaner the suspension was much better. Really is the biggest downer of the refresh and does not make it an enjoyable car to drive. Second biggest downer is the media interface and lack of configuration on drivers console. Don’t get how you have a driver console that has no adjustability. For a tech company complete let down, but know we get stupid games as updates.Had a P90D loaner this week and it had a significantly better ride than my 2022 S. On the bumpy road near my house the P90D absorbed the bumps while the 2022 bounces over them and feels unsettled. My wife also noticed this as the passenger. I assume the recent update that allows for suspension tweaking is an acknowledgement that something's off but I wish they would fix it. It's the #1 reason I haven't canceled my Lucid order.
i only have the issue on speed bumps and I drive in Comfort mode. Especially in the rear, the car goes up and comes down hard even if I am going 1 MPH. It is almost laughable. For those with the bouncing issue, is the effect in Comfort mode and essentially described as a lack of damping, where car rebounds multiple times over bumps?
I’ve directly compared 2018 100D with my 2021+, and the latter is actually much smoother over bumps at 50 mph. The 2021+ bounces far less and hunkers down after hitting the same bumps. Anyway, I cannot compare to Raven, but I think the ride is better than ever in my 3rd Tesla.
Thank you. I increased the pressure to ~40 from the as-delivered pressure (which was 36) and I felt an improvement, but not a significant improvement. Problem persists. Appreciate the many thoughts on this thread, however.you could try lower tire pressure
Thank you DBV1. Yes, exactly. And I am comparing it to a BMW 5 Series, so your comparison is apt. Following this thread and hopefully there will be a fix at some point. After owning my Model S for just over a week, I concur with your statement. It gives me a slight headache too. There is just something about the suspension and the EV maybe that make for a bouncy ride. Even our dog, which falls right asleep in cars, can’t sleep at all in my Tesla. On one 30 minute drive she was shaking. Wish I could figure out what is causing this or if it is just normal. Being a first time Tesla owner, I can’t tell what is normal or not.
I just know in my BMW 5 Series the ride was as smooth as could be.
Chill mode also helped, I agree. Still not enough of an improvement, but it helped with the overall feel, overall comfort for my passengers and me.The acceleration braking can make dogs nervous and humans queasy. Use chill mode
I'm not sure that the different settings under "advanced" makes any appreciable difference either. I think comfort does allow more bounce when hitting big dips on the highway which isn't really a good thing. At low to medium speeds on local roads I see no difference at different settings. I do see the dampening number change when selecting different settings but don't feel any setting that takes away the initial harshness and crashing of hitting even modest bumps in the road.It does, but it doesn’t do any good. I also run 38 PSI. Makes for a better compromise between ride and efficiency IMHO…Medium feels definitely better to me. Lower the air pressure to around 38PSI. This will make a big difference. I have been running all of my Model' S's with these tire pressures and had great results on tire wear. You might loose some efficiency.
Has anyone heard anything new from Tesla about this issue? I too find no difference between the suspension settings and even when set to the softest, the ride is not comfortable. I will try the lower tire PSI as suggested, but we have paid for a comfort mode that has yet to be felt.I also run 38 PSI. Makes for a better compromise between ride and efficiency IMHO…
