I have been waiting for 3 months for my car to be finished and arrive. I was going to finance my car since I don't want to put up all the cash for it since I've just started a new business recently.

I requested delivery to be end of December so I can put up little more cash and finance a smaller portion of it but they pushed it ahead by one month. This caught me off guard. Even the Tesla NJ showroom didn't know it was being delivered one month earlier until the delivery specialist got notified of it last week and it was already in transit to NJ.

Since I just started my business recently, and even with adding a co-signer, I was not able to get financing for it. They are saying my income ratio is not sufficient for them to give me a loan (it's a new business and I have never financed a car before.. so I don't have auto credit).

I really don't want to put up all cash for it since I need that working capital for my business.

Here is your chance to get a Tesla this week because the car has already been delivered to the Short Hills NJ Showroom last Friday Nov. 21st. You don't have to wait 3-4 months for the car to arrive. This is also the last production of Brown colored Tesla that was produced; so in a way, its a limited edition.

Secondly, I'm curious how you know it was the last brown? Did someone at Tesla tell you that?

It was the last production of Brown Teslas as they are not making that color anymore. I specifically wanted to make sure from the manager at Short Hills Tesla that my car will still be brown color. Hope that answers your question.

When I purchased the vehicle, the agreement with Tesla stated that if you couldn't get financing you could back out of the deal. I believe you get your deposit back as well. Not sure if this is still the case.

If you don't qualify for financing I believe this car is for Tesla to sell, not the reservation holder?

Don't know if this helps. From the Nov. 21 blog post:

At Tesla, we believe in doing deals where both parties benefit, and, when there is an asymmetry or underperformance on our part, interpreting that in the other party’s favor. This is true for big deals like the Gigafactory and for everyday transactions. For example, if you buy or lease our car and don’t like it (within a reasonable amount of time), you can automatically give it back, accounting only for usage and damage. Tesla will absorb loss of the new car premium when reselling it as a used vehicle. [My underline.]

Our goal in doing so is to build long-term trust. If people know that we will not take advantage of them and aspire to fairness, even at our own expense, then they are much more likely to want to work with us in the future.

If you're having issues with financing you should discuss this with your Delivery Specialist. If they can't help you find financing then you should be able to get your deposit back and walk away from the car.
