Brand New Model Y - Metallic Taste

Hi All,

Can anyone help?

My brother has just (2 weeks ago) picked up his Brand New Model Y says he experiences a metallic taste in his mouth when driving.

When he puts the windows down, it improves but comes back when puts them up. He also says its worse when he's just fully charged it.

Anyone else experienced this, or know why this would happen?

Confirmation bias.

Also, possibly, a new vehicle interior will be off-gassing volatiles from the various plastics and vinyls. He may be sensitive to some of them. If this is the case then it will rapidly decline over the next few weeks.

Also if charging the car has an impact, that's likely temperature related - again fits with off-gassing volatiles.

Weather and schedule permitting, I'd leave it with windows open and AC on for a few hours to try and speed this up.

There are threads on here where some people report issues with their ears hurting caused by pressure.
When you have sinus problems (normally through illness) you can get a metallic taste. Windows down relieves pressure?

Just a thought. Hope it resolves itself.
