Broken Charge port - Diagnosis Fee?

I foolishing overreached from behind the charging cable, lent on the flap and snapped the end of it right off. - it still opens and closes fine and have taped the broken bit back on for now!

Booked a service appointment to get it replaced and was surprised to see a general diagnosis fee of 72.50 on the estimate in additional to the labour charge to 'remove & replace charge port' of 79.75
Now its pretty obvious the charge port needs replacing and that's what I asked them to do so why the diagnosis fee - Is this a standard thing and will they remove it?

Thanks

These diagnostic fees are annoying, I wish they would be banned. They discourage the consumer from getting multiple quotes and so is anticompetitive, it's a fee to give a quote.

Fortunately I don't believe it needs a whole new charge port though, just a new charge port cover (with motor attached). Although the labour charge is probably similar unfortunately.
