Bug Report: Climate Control Sync & Rear Camera

I'm going to report this to ownership, but since my confidence is marginal that my reports to ownership go to the right place I'll post it here too.

We've seen symptoms of this before but I'm not sure if it was officially reported.

When the rear camera is displayed in the lower half of the touchscreen, the "Sync Temp" button and temperature popup does not get displayed. This means you need to move the rear camera somewhere else (or turn it off completely) to activate or deactivate the driver/passenger side temperature syncing.

I noticed this today as my wife and I were in severe disagreement  about a comfortable temperature, and I couldn't find the sync button. Then I remembered something about the video overlay issues seen with the homelink button in the past, and sure enough that was it. Looks like the sync temp popup and video overlay are on the same layer, and the video is taking priority (or the popup appears underneath it).

I hope I'm not prying but how long do you spend in Reverse?

Oh great. Now it's charts or it didn't happen too:smile:

This sounds like something they can obviously fix in software so hopefully something soon. I guess until that happens you have to move something like music down to the bottom to replace the camera and go back.

Yep, quick fix was to swap top/bottom, change the setting, then swap back. Should be an easy software fix

Speaking of ownership, is the ownership email address gone? I don't see it listed anywhere on TM's site, even when logged into My Tesla. All I see is a phone number. Another reason I'd like a public bug submission system.

It's still ownership at teslamotors.com

The rear camera screen seems to be buggy at best. Even if on the top, it doesn't play well with the Homelink drop-down. Sometimes the Homelink button is obscured and sometimes the camera screen bumps down an inch or so to allow the button to appear with the rest of the screens kind of greyed out.

Are you on 4.4? I saw that in older versions but for me 4.4 has been perfect regarding the video screen and homelink.

Yep. 4.4. Every day when I back out of my garage I use the Homelink button to close the door and see this behavior. Usually, the rearview screen bumps down a bit to let the drop-down show and the rest of the screen dims way down.

The camera view dropdown (to make room for the Homelink menu) and graying out of the rest of the display while in reverse is the intended behavior. When you tap outside of the camera view (while in reverse) or switch back to drive, it should go back to normal.

If intended, it seems odd. With every other screen, the Homelink menu just overlays on top. It does go back to normal in Drive as you say.

My delivery specialist actually showed this bug to me when I picked up my car at the factory in March, so I'd say Tesla has known about it for a while. The volume number popup doesn't appear when the camera is at the bottom as well.
