Build Date 3/19 HW3?

After poking around here for a while it looks like indicators for HW3 are
1. Firmware 2019.7.102 to 2019.7.105 to 2019.12.1.2 to waiting on next update as of 5/29/19
2. Video Codec HEVC (H.265)
3. Build date 4/19 or later.

I picked my car up on 4/20/19 and it conforms to the first 2 indicators. Video files I have from 4/24 are
Codec HEVC (H.265) when the car was still on 2019.7.102
The build date however is 3/19 and the VIN is in the192000 range.

Is it HW3? I guess time will tell.

I can’t speak to the other two, but my car was built on 4/1 and I have HW2.5 as verified by Tesla customer support. The support rep will look it up for you if you start a chat session on the Tesla website.

My LR AWD also got updated this evening. I found the notice on my phone shortly after I got home. So it probably triggered as soon as the car connected to WiFi. Mine was ordered 4/30, delivered 5/9. It seems like that would mean a build after 4/16 but the door tag says 4/19 so who knows. I was told it would have HW 3 but do they really know?

Your build date on the door jam is "month / year" so 4/19 is "april, 2019". It sounds like you are thinking that the 4/19 is April 19th, and not "april of 2019".

what firmware are you on?
my guess is 16.2 is hw2.5 and 16.3 is hw3
once it updates, you will know

I got around to taking a photo of the sticker of the computer in back of the glovebox.

This is a topic I've been following closely so now that I have my Model 3 I figured I'd post my findings too.

I have a Model 3 VIN# 310XXX. The delivery center performed an update before I arrived. It was firmware version 2019.16.3.2 when I picked it up.

Since the purpose of this post is to help us differentiate between HW2.5 and HW3 ourselves, it's helpful if everyone reading this could post the following:

[Current firmware]:
[Last six of your VIN#]:
[Codec of your TeslaCam videos (H.264 or H.265)]:
[Parts # of the STICKER underneath your glovebox]:
[Location (US, EUR, ASIA)]:

If we can get everyone to post as much complete information as possible we can paint a clearer picture.

The numbers on the sticker are similar to the above mentioned numbers and the stamped 1465773-00-C is the same.
The build date is December 12, 2018. That appears to be an early date.

I am thinking my car is HW 3. Which is nice because I bought it with FSD
