Have any members bought a used car from Tesla UK. I would be very grateful to hear about your experience of the proccess.
Thank you.

I considered a used inventory S before going for a new Y. The attraction for used inventory was around the Used Car Warranty and the possibility to extend.Things like CCS can be checked before purchase if you use websites like tesla-info.com to check inventory. They decide manufacturing and configuration codes and tell you far more than the Teslas website.
The dents and things are just a sad reflection of Teslas customer service and investing in basic quality processes. You may want to check they’ve actually taxed it for you (even though it’s £0, you still need to go through the process).
Thank you for that very illuminating account. So I’ve just collected a Model S today from Southampton.
Firstly, timeline:
8th April - ordered the car after a phone call confirming spec, including 2 keys and CCS upgrade.
19th - received a delivery date of 28th, rang and requested 27th instead which was fine.
21st - invoice received for payment
23rd - phone call to confirm the date, details, and double checked things like CCS
26th - received an email response from my email on the 12th April asking about delivery telling me there’s no date yet!
27th - collected!
So on arrival, I was the only collection of the day from Southampton. And a few things were unexpected!
There was a nasty dent on the rear wing that ‘oh I didn’t notice that’ from Tesla, as well as a dent in the front bumper from hitting a poll… I raised a service request there and then with the Tesla guy confirming it will all be fixed.
It also did not have a CCS adaptor and turns out no CCS at all... It was not in fact done.
And only one key…. They’ve said they’ll provide a new key, but looks like I have to pay for CCS…
I checked on DVLA to find the car wasn’t taxed (I know it’s free, but it still needs to be done… if I hadn’t checked I’d have been driving off illegally and no suggestion from Tesla I needed to do this), and the MoT expires in October…. I had been checking this before and presumed it would come with a full year’s MoT?
And although the inside was clean, the interior was far from it. At best it had had a quick vacuum…. The compartments full of dust and crumbs, and lots of marks that will clean up in a decent valet, but it hadn’t been done.
Received a text on the way home to reschedule my Service Appoinment to next week, as the earliest date in the app was in June! Now I’m curious if there will be a battle over costs or not, or I end up rejecting the car within 14 days. Still not sure I should be bringing up the MoT or not.
Certainly the oddest premium second hand car experience I’ve had! I purchased a new Model 3 two years ago so wasn’t expecting much in terms of the handover, but was presuming they’d have sorted the car to delivery condition! In the end I’m sure it’ll get resolved, but given the 3 weeks from order to delivery, I’m curious what they were doing!
I suspect the Tesla one is better, you’d need to check the exclusions around lights, handles, seals etc. At least with a specialist you’ve somebody who should know how to prep the car and you have someone to shout out if they don’t.However, used Tesla specialist firms may well offer similar warranties .......Mr S?
