Buying reservation on Ebay, anybody has done that?

I'm not sure just a reservation has much value. There are literally thousands of Mar-May reservationists.
Until it converts to a Invite, Mar-May means little. There is probably another 'push' for reservation holders coming up after the quarterly report.

Makes sense. I would imagine once an invite materializes it's potentially worth a couple grand for someone who would be able to take advantage of the full tax credit with such reservation versus not being able to take advantage at all due to their position in line, plus people just want it as soon as they can.

How does this work? You pay the seller whatever your winning bid is... Do they then order the car and change the info in the configurator so that you get the tax incentive? Then you pay for the car at delivery? If that were the case, it's something that would be of interest to me...

I paid the winning bid through PayPal but I talked to the seller before hand to get some sort of comfort level.

I met up with the seller a day later, and we configured the car in his account. (Because he was a previous owner) When we configured, we put my information for who the car will be titled to and uploaded a copy of my drivers license and proof of insurance.

He basically became the go between for me and Tesla. However, I believe you could tell Tesla to contact you directly to arrange for delivery and to verify your loan, etc.

The day of delivery he showed up with me and I paid him the $3000 he already put down for the car ($1k initial deposit and $2k when he configured the car). He really didn't need to be there at the time of delivery but we were unsure at the time. Since the car is originally registered in my name, I get the tax incentive. I also arranged for a loan from a credit union and brought a cashier's check the day of delivery to pay Tesla for the car.

The only small issue is the car still hasn't been transferred into my account and I took delivery over a month ago. They are really backed up with transfers so it is taking a lot longer than usual. They gave me access to the car through the app so I still have full control and function.

I'm moving to Puerto Rico in a month or two and probably don't need my reservation (electricity is $0.25/KWh there, gas is $3, and the grid is unreliable -- I'll probably pick up a plug-in hybrid pickup truck instead, like the Workhorse W-15, or something like that). I'd be happy to sell my reservation for $2k + $1k reservation. (I have a wikipedia page and am probably not a scammer.)

I'm thinking of doing this as well. Has anyone actually done this successfully?
I’m not selling mine for a profit, but a friend of mine is taking delivery of a Model 3 that I ordered with my owner’s priority next week. Basically you just need to have the car registered only in the buyer’s name on the order form. Pickup only required the registered owners to be there. When there the buyer can request that the car be moved onto their own personal Tesla account. That’s it. The Delivery Specialists are very familiar with the process now.

She’s going to do the same thing for her earlier non-owner reservation for her cousin, who didn’t place a reservation at all.
