California Grants Tesla $10 Million To Build The Model X Electric SUV - Forbes (Way to go, Mike Taylor and Tesla!)
Hope so! I would like to get by end of 2013 (like, say, on my birthday), but more likely it will be mid-2014 when I see my vehicle.
That would be great if this speeds up Model X development, even if it doesn't it's nice to see Tesla getting grants for their work.
$10 million is nice and all, but it's really pocket change in this context. This is more for PR than anything.
The "Deliveries Begin in 2014" at the top of the Model X section of TM's site supports what you suspect.

Sig 1 will probably be in 2013. All the rest will be in 2014 is my guess:smile: Hope you get your car at the end of next year. That would be great considering the wait.
Didn't I read somewhere that they would double the grant if TM could deliver the first 2 sigs before 2014 and triple it if they delivered by bonnie's bday?
The vote of confidence is good for Tesla Motors but my question is how will TM move forward with the Model X grant? I would like to see TM create a California edition of the X with special badging or color honoring California's commitment to the Model X and TM.
Great idea; here's a picture of California's official flower the California Golden Poppy. Seen a few high end cars painted in this color.
As one of the minority of people in California that pays taxes - I wish the state had kept the money in our pocket instead of someone else's pocket. Early next month we vote on weather to increase taxes (only a temporary tax increase :scared because the state is "a little short".
> be mid-2014 when I see my (ModelX). [bonnie1194] ModelX . . so big . . hmmm . . Oh! I see it now, you can carry your Roadster around in the back. That does make sense. --
