So I'm a bit confused now and my story is odd.

Got my VIN today, completed the Proof of Insurance submission. How am I contacted about pickup at Colma? My SA isn't there, she is actually in Pittsburgh, PA - which is where I was living when I initially submitted my order.

She hasn't been the best in terms of communication, and from what I've heard, calling Colma and getting help/answers isn't always the best experience.

Any ideas for me?

Same here. But with premiums/quotes, the amount and type of coverages, the amount of the deductible(s), and annual miles matter. So if we post just the quote amount without specifying the coverages/deductibles, we don't know if we're comparing apples to apples.

AAA quoted me $5,100 for the year for: $250k liability, $250k UIM/UM, $100k PD, $5k med-pay, $35 per day rental. The deductibles were $1k for both collision and comprehensive, $0 UM deductible. My office is close to home and I'm currently working from home so my annual miles have never exceeded 3500.

Tesla quoted me $2800 for the year for the same coverages/miles but lower deductibles of $250 for both collision and comp. I went with Tesla. It was cheaper than what I was paying AAA for my Audi A5.

Tesla Insurance is hard to beat.
Farmers quoted me $1620/year for Model Y - 500K/1M liability, 500K/1M UM, 500K PD, 5K med, $50 daily rental, with roadside assistance. Deductibles are 100/1000.

I have been with Farmers for a few years and bundle auto, homes, and umbrella with them. While other insurance companies quoted me lower auto rates, their home policies were considerably higher, so overall Farmers still offered us the best rates/coverage. I do check the competition annually though to make sure I'm not overpaying. Tesla insurance quoted me lower coverage levels yet was still a few dollars more than Farmers back when I had the Model S.

If i do that and don't care about losing the 100 can i do that to reserve it while i find my SA to get them to move it over? I already have a complete profile with tesla financing in place on my reservation but it may have been pushed out to September lol plus i wanted the induction wheels anyway. I'll ask for forgiveness later from my partner lol.
hmm good question and im not too sure lol. I think the SA will just cancel your original order but i would check with them.

I got an inventory model too because my april order was taking forever and i hated the waiting game. When I ordered my inventory, I just created a new order and paid the $100 fee. I got my vin right away and delivery was scheduled two days later because the car was already available. it may have been someone's cancelled order or something because it was a new model (15 miles on the odometer) and not a demo.

You can keep both orders open and see which one gets the first delivery date lol. but of course, the SA will know how to handle the transfer im sure

You could use the chat function on the website to request a new SA.

I would first contact [email protected] and see if someone will respond. That will usually go to the store manager. If no one responds, you could try calling but I know that's hit or miss. If nothing else works, just go to the Colma store and ask for a delivery specialist. The should be able to guide you.

got my VIN this morning, confirmed insurance, then got the text about est. delivery in 2-4 days, don't need to be present, etc.

i responded w confirmation and they texted me back with a caveat saying delivery was contingent on vehicle arriving on time, passing inspection, etc.

then they sent a follow-up text asking if i'd like it a day sooner given my credit expires on delivery day.

what a roller coaster this has been!!

i had luck with the chat feature on the sales part of the website - they said someone would reach out within 24 hours and they did via a 510 number in my case - same number they've been using for communication about delivery.

Has anyone had luck in slightly modifying an inventory order? I know removing FSD is possible but what about changing tires or removing tow hitch? A chat representative said yes but someone at Century City said no.
Lol. If that were possible then what would be the point of ordering? It would be like ordering off a restaurant menu…I’d like the MSM strandard please but sub the wheels for 20s and remove the hitch. I’ll be sitting over here in the lounge waiting. 😆

If pit stop mechanics can swap all 4 wheels in 5 seconds why can’t Tesla? 🤪

I just got my VIN and submitted my payment this evening (May 20 order date). Delivery window is now 6/18-6/22 for Burbank. Should I expect to be contacted tomorrow to schedule the delivery? It will be really difficult for me to go on Monday or Tuesday. Is there anything I can do to try and have it be Saturday or Sunday?
Expect to be contacted today or tomorrow. You can always ask delivery availability.

You can try calling them and talk to a delivery specialist. I think it’s option #4 on the phone
