Cabin Area

For the driver and passenger cabin area….. does the model y have more leg room and shoulder room than the model 3? My model 3 just seems like such a small area……. How about the model x. Is it the same cabin area as the model y? Thank you.

I am currently a model 3 owner and only drove a MY once. I believe there is only more headroom. I heard they actually moved the front seat forward a bit to give the rear seats more legroom. Although the MY seats are higher than the M3 so… I’m sorry I really don’t know for certain. When I drove my friends MY, it was for about an hour and it felt very VERY similar to the M3. I’m 6’2" and 195lbs and find the M3 to be incredibly comfortable. But my seat is pretty much all the way back

I have both and there's significantly more leg room in the Y. This is true especially for the rear seats. This is partly due to the actual extra space and partly due the higher seats. The higher seats allow more room for your legs and makes it less likely you'll need to push the driver's seat back and recline to get comfortable. My teenager kids complain about sitting in the rear seats of the 3 but rave about the space they now have in the Y.

 

[MY-Y]

I also have both. Something rarely mentioned is that the floor of the M3 rises up in front of the front seats (i.e. as you move your foot towards the seat, the floor rises). The MY floor doesn't do this. This means the extra hight from the MY seat is even more significant.

I won't go looking but I'll bet the rear seats are moved back to get that extra legroom, pushing the rear seat into the rear wheel wells. It's way, way more comfortable back there than in a M3.
