There is tilt intrusion on our cars. Very recently I had a service come out to my house and do tires for me, they used 3 jacks and se-sawed the car a little and the car alarm went off. When I check the manual, there seems to be some reference to tilt intrusion as part of the alarm, which we do not have here in the US (at least I dont think so). Perhaps there is some combination that includes tilt intrusion on international vehicles that prevents cabin overheat protection from activating?
Yup... that's Tesla reality for you. People with different software versions (and nationalities) get different results. When our North American brethren chime in on a UK & Eire forum, things get muddled. With the latest update, Cabin Overheat Protection seems to be working reliabily, touch wood.Yeah this thread is confusing me...
That's how I have it set to and today, watching the inside temperature after leaving my car, it crept to 44.5C and is staying there for over an hour. Audible check of the car and the fan isn't spinning. Looking at the data from the Climate info returned from the API, I can't see anything mentioning COP was active. If you set it to just fan and no AC, it could be engaging but incapable of going down to 40C.
Yesterday cabin cooled fine. Today it did not work,For all you EU friends, just checked it out and
without tilt turned off and sentry off it will not
cool the cabin. We tried to turn sentry on with
the phone app, it turns on tilt as well so that appears
not to work. Not hot enough today to see if plugging it
in will change anything. It seems its hard coded.
We could not find tilt in the phone app so we had to
do it in the car. We are on the latest software.
For the sake of completeness it turned on at 42C.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the fan only setting is not working in my car also...That's how I have it set to and today, watching the inside temperature after leaving my car, it crept to 44.5C and is staying there for over an hour. So, according to the inside temperature, and parked for just an hour at home. charging with Sentry off at home, the fan should be ON, but it's not.
It seems to work when my car is not plugged in. I haven't tested it but the only time I've heard the fan running is when I'm not plugged in.I have a sneaking suspicion that the fan only setting is not working in my car also...
Please explain how you manage that. Mine will not activate overheat protection if Sentry is on. I can’t disable Tilt Alarm if I use Sentry. Catch 22?You can have Sentry Mode and Cabin Overheat Protection enabled at the same time. I do that all the time.
What difference will it make now ? The heatwave is overPlease explain how you manage that. Mine will not activate overheat protection if Sentry is on. I can’t disable Tilt Alarm if I use Sentry. Catch 22?
I don’t do anything to manage it, they’re both enabled and they both operate at the same time. I know this because I get cabin overheat notifications while Sentry is active. I don’t have the tilt/intrusion alarm in my cars, so maybe that’s the difference. Please explain how you manage that. Mine will not activate overheat protection if Sentry is on. I can’t disable Tilt Alarm if I use Sentry. Catch 22?
Yup, that's the lamentable situation as described to me by Tesla in Spain last summer.Note: for my M3 in Greece with version 2023.12.9 I cannot have both sentry mode and COP enabled.
Anyway this seems to be a bug that Tesla needs to fix.
You must be in the car, not phone. We just did this today. For some reason in my case even when Sentry is Off, tilt protection is greyed out but enabled
