The label suggests 3awg, but the pictured cable does look like it's probably the 6awg you were quoted. Might be a re-used cable drum with an old label?

6awg wire should be sufficient for a 50A breaker.

It is good for 50A breaker for sure.
I was concerned if the same wiring can be used if I decide to put in a 60A breaker and connect the wall charger that can draw 48 Amps (80% of 60A).
After feedback from folks here and checking the Ontario code, it is confirmed, as this wire configuration (BX) is rated for 65A at 75C.
