Cali ARB HOV Listing

CARB doesn’t list the 2012 MS as eligible for California clean air program. It does say Tesla S2 and S3 for 2012. What are those?

An old snapshot made in late 2012 lists the 2012 Tesla Model S and S3: Eligible Vehicles - Single Occupant Carpool Lane Use Stickers.

Does it really matter at this point? If a '12 Model S has already been issued a CA HOV sticker, it will expire 1/1/19 and won't be eligible for another. If you want a used EV/PHEV and the sticker, you'd need to get a qualifying EV/PHEV which has never been issued an HOV sticker.

It does matter. Just picked up this 2012 CPO which has been in Florida. I’ll use remainder of this year plus 3 years after on HOV Lane.

Well, I think you'll be ok to apply for a CA HOV sticker as long as the test group number (CTSLV00.0L1 S) matches what's on the car itself.
