California Assemblyman Muratsuchi has authored a bill, AB1077, to help reduce taxes on Alternative Vehicles. Basically, if the bill passes, sales tax and vehicle fees will be based on the true net cost of the vehicle (after rebates), rather than the out of pocket cost. Californians would save approximately $1,000 in sales tax ($7500 fed tax credit + $2500 CA rebate @ approx 10% sales tax), as well as a reduction in annual license fees which are based on the cost of the car.

If you live in CA please contact your state representatives and let them know you support AB1077. Let's get more EV's on the road!
