California, how long do you wait for your plates to be delivered?

Look at the bright side; if you wait until January for the HOV application, you can get an extra year out of the carpool lane stickers.

My CA plates arrived almost exactly 3 months after delivery.

I bought a new Highlander on November 12, got plates in the mail three days ago. I’m sure an extra 60-90 days is the standard Tesla handicap.

Well I picked up car on 10/29 and just got plates from DMV today. Go figure.

FYI as of 2023, I took delivery of my new car on March 31 and it's now May 31 and hadn't received my plates. I did an online chat with the CA DMV and they said that my permanent registration just went through on May 25 and I should receive the plates by June 25. So, apparently 2-3 months is what it is taking now to get your CA new car plates in 2023.
