pretty sure it goes by your home address even if you pick it up in Fremont.

Sales tax depends on where you live. You can buy and pick up a car in Oregon but still pay 9.5% if you live/register in LA.

VIN received 11 a.m. today, 3/26/18. I'm so excited!!!!
3/31/16 non-owner line waiter, 2/28/18 invite and configuration, 3/26/18 VIN assignment.
Black, aero, no EAP.
VIN 84XX.
I know there's been tons of threads on this but now I feel weird having such a low VIN at this point in the game.
Fired up and awaiting my call from Tesla. Hopefully I make the 3/31 rush.

Same configuration for me. Ordered 6 days earlier, assigned a VIN 6 days earlier as well. Mine is 67XX.

Black aeros seem to be a special case, and I think it'll be interesting to ask/find out when our cars were actually made, because I don't think the earlier VIN necessarily means an earlier production date. Either way, I wouldn't be concerned.
