Can’t open charge port with wall charger

I have the Tesla wall charger installed in my garage, but can’t get the charge port to open when pressing the button on the charge handle. I’ve tried pressing the button in different areas around the car and can’t get it work.

Anyone else experience this?

If you open your trunk and point at the charge port from inside the trunk, does it work?

Did open from touch screen??? The port antenna is in the deck lid, a foot up from bottom, I found it trying to get to speaker. They have replaced 2 ports on me. Software wouldn't recognize each older version.

I have the refreshed 2021 model s and the current version of the HPWC.

Haven’t been to the supercharger yet, so haven’t tried their buttons.

Port opens fine with the app/touchscreen, but it has never worked with the button on the HPWC

You can also press the port's door on the car to open it.

Seems to be going around. As before, can you point the charger inside the trunk (in the direction of the charge port) and have it work/open the charge port with this method?

Yes, but it's more useful to get to the root cause of the problem, no?

It's either the transmitter in the plug handle or the receiver in the car that has failed. So you just need to isolate the variables by trying other charge cord buttons to see if it either works or doesn't work.

I have had the same issue since day 1. It’s apparently something to do with the antenna wiring. My car is going in to service tomorrow for the latest thing that doesn’t work (going on 4.5 months now without a fully working car) and I’m going to attempt to have this antenna issue fixed at the same time.

Will do. Car is in service - where... it never moved the entire day from outside. *sigh*

Hopefully tomorrow they'll get to work on it...

Service replaced the ChargePort, but that still didn’t fix it. I have to reschedule to give them more time to look into it

That's a bummer that it doesn't work any better after the charge port replacement. Grrr. My car is still in service (yep, a month later...), so I don't have an update on this for you, either. Did you try opening the trunk and pointing inside the trunk at the charge port to see if that works? Does it NEVER work at any point?

It works perfectly when the trunk is open.

Service tech tried to reposition the antenna wire but nothing worked.

He said they may try to replace the antenna wire next.

Same issue with my plaid. Pressing the button on the charger handle never opens the door.

Right. Keep us posted as to how that goes. One of the forum members here said it required an antenna repositioning/rework to fix it.
