Can any buyer/owner now do a factory tour

The answer is "no". I was in SF last week and tried for 2 weeks to schedule a tour. I couldn't get anyone @ Tesla to even respond to my inquiries via email. Via phone I was told either "no, not possible" or "talk to your DS". DS never responded. I ended up asking another forum member who happened to be taking delivery last week if I could tag along, and they graciously said yes. I've since heard from two other forum members asking how I managed to go on a tour, so there are clearly others who are in the same boat.

I thought they WOULD let you take a factory tour some time around when you take delivery. It's not really fair that CA residents or those who want to go to CA and pay sales tax upon delivery are the only ones 'allowed', if this is the way things are going foward.

You're right about the fairness of it. Those that do factory pickup and get the factory tour also have to pay the $995 delivery charge even though we picked it up. So in essence, the Tour costs $995. Perhaps if you ask to pay an extra $995, they will give you a tour too! (This sounds far more bitter than I am - the Tour was great as is the car).

I did ask on the tour in January about returning for another tour (my brother really wanted to join, but had a conflict), but they "maybe" in the summer. It is not possible right now as they are just too busy.

Call Alex Frank. He's great and will see that you get the factory tour you deserve!

I emailed [email protected] and requested a factory tour. I live in Atlanta, so factory delivery isn't practical. I sent the email 3/3. They called me back on 3/8 and said it would be no problem.

I am getting a Multi-coat red 60 kWh with an April-May delivery window. I am going to be in San Francisco on 4/11 and setup the tour for then.

I am doing home delivery in AZ, probably in the next couple of weeks. But, I will be in the area next week. I asked my Product Specialist about a tour, expecting the answer to be no. He said no problem. I don't know if it has anything to do with my delivery coming up, or if it's just simply who you talk to. But, I got on the schedule for Monday.

This is good news. I'm going to be in Palo Alto in late April, just around the time my Model S is set for delivery to me in Maryland. When I talk to my DS next week I'm going to see if I can arrange a tour when I'm in the Fremont area.

I was able to get in on a tour a few months after my car was delivered. Honestly, Tesla would be pleased to give a tour to the whole world if they had the space. I am sure they'd be happy to have any owners tour, it's a matter of timing and space.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but it's relevant.

Does anyone know if it's currently possible for owners to schedule tours? Took delivery about a year ago, but will be in the bay area next month and would like to schedule a tour if possible. Would emailing ownership be the best way to go about it?
