Hi Everyone ,
did anyone try charging their MG ZS EV 2020 car? with Gen 3 charger.
Bit disappointed for misleading info on Tesla Gen 3 charger I.e it can charge all cars.
I got mine installed to charge my MG ZS EV 2020 model, but it stays in solid blue.
I have got the latest firmware 21.36.5 and set it to all cars. No luck
I could not find any Australian support number.
Will you be selling your Gen2?I have tested my gen 2 with the dip switch set to legacy and the Volvo just gives the error. I spoke to Tesla support about it and they confirmed that the early gen 2 units that shipped with the model S and X supported legacy mode, but the model 3 supplied units were locked.

Thanks for this update - while I'm still waiting for my M3 to arrive, seriously thinking of picking up the new model mg zs ev for my wife (will probably arrive quicker too!). So if the gen 3 wall charger can do both cars, will be perfect! This Post is for MG ZS EV owners who installed Tesla Gen 3 wall charger at home.
I have some good news to share i.e latest firmware from Tesla 22.7.0 has solved the charging issue. Now you can lvl2 charge your car!
No more range anxiety as I can fast charge![]()
That's great! How is it updated? Management interface of the wall connector itself, or does it need a Tesla to plug in to it (and update, in the same way as the UMC gets updated to support full speed)?I have some good news to share i.e latest firmware from Tesla 22.7.0 has solved the charging issue. great work with the paint brush - love the brand affinity...

was it a hassle to bend the adaptor tail back to the wall to get it to plug into the UMC ? you're the first one I've seen who has actually succeeded.
The Gen 2 HPWC are updated like the UMC, by a connected Tesla vehicle after charging has finished. That's great! How is it updated? Management interface of the wall connector itself, or does it need a Tesla to plug in to it (and update, in the same way as the UMC gets updated to support full speed)?
Asking on behalf of my employer who has a couple of MG ZS EVs and has a Tesla wall charger to trial.. but ran into this bug.
Thanks, the shrine was primarily to cover the wiring behind (not related to the charger) there’s power running for a socket, lighting above and a gate motor all behind and I can’t stand wiring spaghetti.great work with the paint brush - love the brand affinity...
