Can I do a long road trip soon after getting my new car

A couple of suggestions:

Get PlugShare loaded onto your smartphone. This lists charging locations in addition to Superchargers. Most will be 30A public chargers or 50A campgrounds or RV parks, but they also list Tesla destination chargers at hotels or other locations where one might spend several hours. In fact, it might be sensible to patronize the hotel/motel with destination charging so you can fill up while you sleep and be good to go first thing in the morning. You might be able to skip the first Supercharger en route.

Take your UMC as well with all adapters. This gives added flexibility in using the J1772 public charging stations, 50A plugs at campgrounds or other locations, or if desperate, 120V/15A wall charging. You can easily add 3 miles of range per hour on a 120 socket.

You might wish to wander off the Supercharger highway in your journey. Having all the equipment stashed in your vehicle will allow you to make a small detour or scenic drive without worrying about your range.
