Can Model 3 Deposit be Applied to Other Tesla?

I assume the answer is yes, but if put a deposit down for the M3 and then decide at some point in the next few months that I will order a different Tesla, I assume I can apply my M3 deposit to the other Tesla, correct?

Tesla would love for you to do that with your initial $1000 deposit. Not sure if thy would let you do that after you configure and pay the second deposit.

When I bought my model x, they said they couldn’t. I had to cancel my m3 order and get a refund.

I tried that when upgrading from a Model 3 to a 75D. They were not able to do that, and so they refunded the Model 3 deposit instead. This is Tesla in Dubai - not sure if it would be the same in Canada.

Canada was a refund. Bought an X.

In 2016, I was able to move my $5000 Model X deposit over and use it towards my Model S down-payment. From what I've heard, they no longer allow that. Now, I think they will typically issue a refund and you have to put down another deposit.
