Can someone pull a carfax report for me?

Hi everyone!

Looking to purchase a used model S this week and wanted to see if someone could pull a carfax report for me with their unlimited account? It’s not much but thought I could save $50 from someone that can pull it for free vs paying for it. Thank you in advance!

Many car dealers offer free reports for the cars they are selling.

Just copy the url from one of those and substitute their vin for yours.

I just tried this, great thought, but does not work.

Example here: "https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=JZL_0&vin=5YJXCBE23KF142990". Subst any other VIN and it offers to sell it to you for $40.

I'm on a Mac and tried 5 different browsers, Brave, Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari, and they all worked.

I too am on a mac. Can you give us the "starter" link we can plug a VIN into?

Edit: the link above works that I posted, but when you change the VIN to another, it will not work.

I have tried on Mac and iPhone and has not worked for me using that method.

When you get that Model S, will you come get me and bring me through Burger King drive-thru? I really wanna eat fast food while sitting in a Tesla but don't want my own to smell like grease.

NOT the right car for you my friend. Repairs aren't cheap.

Thought I would ask because usually it’s relatively easily accessible. Coming from a 5 series BMW so I know what maintenance can be like.

I have always used cheap Carfax site Fullcarfax.com it's easy and instant delivery. They have both Carfax and Autocheck reports at $6.99

Anyone have any good suggestions for Vehicle History Report sources? CarFax seems to be the most thorough – and most expensive. AutoCheck seems more affordable and but doesn’t have the guarantees that CarFax does, etc. We’re probably spending less than $5000 and I just want to verify owner history, accident history and title. I know enough about cars to look for most mechanical red flags, etc. There are plenty of reports that just charge a buck per report but some seem a little shady. All other used cars I’ve ever bought were single-owner trades at a dealer and they already had the history ran. Probably going private seller, in this case Anyone have any recommendations?
