This question has been in my mind for some time now and I want to see if anyone has tried it or if they know the answer. Thanks!

Anything can be possible with money and time. But if you're asking if it's a direct plug and play replacement -- the answer is no.

So it just can't be popped in, but how hard is it to actually achieve? Is it super expensive to do?

You will not want to even if you could. The old HID headlights are way superior when it comes to actual lighting the road. Google IIHS tesla headlight and you will see. I was hoping to go the other way around actually.

I can attest to the fact the new LED headlights are not the brightest. I hope they have a very long life at least.
