Can the Model Y power a tailgate setup?

For tailgating, I’ve used a small generator to power an LCD TV, an AppleTV and a small, portable PA system to amplify the sound. I then use the ESPN app to stream live sports. Can the Model Y power that much equipment using a power inverter or will I still need my generator?

Thanks! That’s what I thought. I’m hoping that if I replace my tailgate TV with a “smart TV” that doesn’t require a separate streaming device and has enough output volume to eliminate the need for an external amp, the car can handle it (just powering the TV and nothing else).

I believe that 12v outlet is only rated for a 12 amp load, so 144 watts of output plus some percentage loss on the inverter. Tesla manual does not recommend using the outlets with inverters though, may be safer to just use a generator anyway.

I'd suggest you ask over at the Model 3 sticky thread:

It sounds possible, but people are sick of these types of questions so created the sticky thread. People there are interested in the question. You need to hook directly to the 12v battery to access more power.
