My 2018 obsidian black metallic scratches just from the wind, its insane. Any bird dropping will instantly etch and leave a mark. Thin? I don’t know but I sure hope quality has improved.

Nope. Paint on my 2009 Tahoe was much better than my 2019 Tesla.

Unfortunately no. The paint on our (20k) Hyundai Ioniq has way less rock chips than my Tesla. It seems like every rock makes a new mark
