Can you put the M3 into neutral when actually standing still and off the brake?

I tried to put the M3 into neutral to then push it by hand to a specific location to check the tire.
I stepped on the brake to wake up the car, put it neutral, and when I got off the brake it switched to 'P'ark.
Is there a way to keep it neutral?

SOLVED... When in D, lift right lever for two seconds and it goes into neutral.
Another option is Transport mode in the Service menu.

Car wash mode can also do this, there's an option for it. Lift and hold on the gear stalk is the easiest way though as you found out.
