That is certainly good news ! Was this manager at Tesla Canada, or in california?

Now we can only hope that winter plays nice and doesn't stick around too long this year...

You and your wife have the exact same birthday? Have you ever looked into the odds of that occurring? Must make for some pretty interesting parties!

My big dilemma now is deciding between service center (more time to inspect, ask questions, etc...) and home delivery (very cool, but more chaotic with 4 kids running around).

1) My choice is already made: service center (I live only 150 KM from there).
2) We are the same birthday date, but were born a different year. Yop, very interesting parties ... :)
3) Sorry, can't tell you more about my Tesla's source.

I hope a nice and early spring to all !!

I'm P5 and mine is schedule for the same time (1 pm) in Montreal... so 3 hours before

Has the snow delayed your delivery, the guys in Toronto are saying their cars haven't shown up. I haven't heard if the Vancouver cars are here or not, they were supposed to arrive on Friday and weather is good.

I have my 220V plug, bank draft and insurance all taken care of, so just a matter of the experience of picking up the car tomorrow. We're getting excited!

Cheers.

Yes it will arrive later... so expected on wednesday now

Thanks for the heads-up, everyone! I checked MY TESLA and found the delivery button.
My scheduled delivery is March 7-21 2013. Considering that I only finalized one week ago, I'm quite excited !

I wasn't invited to pick up at a Service Centre (I would like to pick up at Toronto/Montreal), and I have a financing question for Tesla.. I'll be submitting my delivery information as soon as Tesla gets back to me on those 2 issues.

I could also use a VIN for insurance / bank... this should be provided on the delivery page.

@Steph_S, if you do Toronto talk to me about driving it to Ottawa before you try it. I can give some tips and alternate routes. Going 300 km in one hop during the winter requires a little care. I might suggest doing two stops for a novice EVer.

Thanks for the generous offer, Doug. When my delivery date approaches - I will surely take you up on that. I have been trying to stay one step ahead by reading forums such as Winter Ice Adventure and Toronto to Ottawa routes.

It seems like you travel between Ottawa and Toronto very often, and I'm sure your experiences will come to be quite valuable. Being a Roadster owner also helps with your long term experience in Tesla's technology and vehicles! I am a current hybrid owner, and I consider myself more "aware" than the average driver with respect to energy consumption. My hybrid gives me realtime feedback on my economy and I think an EV will be a fun challenge to drive. This will be my first fully electric vehicle.

I was able to talk with my delivery specialist today, and have arranged pick up in Mississauga despite the option not being present on the MY TESLA website. I was offered to pick up the vehicle in Montréal, but due to tax and EV Rebate reasons, I decided that it was simpler to take delivery in the same province as my residence.

Seeing the Tesla employees in Toronto and having a lot of fun at the Service Centre is what it's all about. I'll dedicate lots of time for this trip - I'm in no rush. I'll be quite happy to drive slowly, turn off cabin heat, plan alternate routes and call ahead for charger availability. Stopping for a steak dinner while the Model S sucks up electrons is something I'm looking forward to. Of course, I'll be sure to thank management and leave a generous tip (if appropriate) wherever I stop to charge.

Thanks again for the offer.

Yeah, it's always fun to talk to the service guys. I usually learn a few things.

Tip: In my experience, it's not necessary to turn off the cabin heat altogether. It doesn't buy you that much if you're using the "Range Mode" heat setting. You'd gain far more by slowing down 5 kph. And you won't freeze your butt! I've done a few seat-heater-only trips in the Roadster, and let me tell you, you get pretty chilled out after a few hours. The Model S is much more comfortable.

Maybe I'll start a thread about Ottawa-Toronto route options.

We picked up the car yesterday and it was a great experience. Hans was a one man show yesterday with it being a provincial holiday, but all the cars were there and ready to go. Three were delivered yesterday with the rest this week.

I reiterate all the great things being said about the delivery and the car. It is a rocket (P85), both off the line and when at highway speed. Traction control is totally necessary, especially with the wet roads here. Fit & finish is great as most have experienced, just a well made car.

We are pleased with it.

Cheers.

Congrats! pics??
