I was on the interstate going with the flow of traffic. It was finally nice and the sun set and I was wanting to close the roof. It said "Sunroof Position Not allowed. Please reduce speed" Thought that was kinda of weird. i've never had a car not let me close the sunroof due to speed before lol.
Old style ones that don't have panoramic roofs do. The newer pano roofs where the whole roof not just the sunroof panel are glass typically work the same way Tesla's does.
It used to make a horrible screech just as it closed when driving at freeway speeds. If this came in a software update, it's a good thing.
I've experienced the screech at high speeds (75+ mph) and needed to slow down to allow it to close fully. I'll try it again on I-5 next time to see if I get the message instead.
When I did my test drive in 2011, the co pilot opened the sunroof when I was passing people on 880 and i closed it but the screen piece got pinched, made a terrible sound. Good update, I have ran into it quite a few times, think it was in 5.8
Fyi the trick that I use to close the sunroof at high speeds is to first crack the side windows open then close the sunroof. Must be a pressure difference thing but it closes fine using that method at 80+mph
