Can't Reset Sonic On "Legacy" Model S

Been a while since I posted here...I still have my 2015 70D and it's going great. Did the MCU2 upgrade (with FM tuner) last year.

When I played Sonic, I noticed I can't actually "close" the game, or reset it. If I back out of the game, when it comes back it loses the sound and might lose connection to my controller. Is this normal?

In Cuphead, there's an X in the top right corner that closes the game. In Sonic, it actually has the top and bottom controls as normal, and just has a "fullscreen" button in the top left. It doesn't even change them to what is in the Theater apps.

I had to do a scroll wheel reboot to get Sonic to reset. I consider this to be a "party trick" but that's still annoying that I can only load it once before doing a full car reboot because the whole point of party tricks is to impress your jealous friends.
