This looks like the Bolt is their main EV seller at the moment, that doesnt seem so abandoned

I was quite clear that GM made the decision to fully bake a major EV platform at the expense of time-to-market. They do not have any meaningful future-facing EV footprint yet - exactly. Ford went the other way and pushed out 2 significant models early (but is suffering for their speed it would appear).

I find the two paths fascinating to watch... while smiling as Tesla quietly puts out hundreds of thousands of finished goods.

TO some extent Ford have done what GM did with the bolt, they paid LG Chem to make a pack for them, they bought in motors and management systems from magna etc then they bolted those parts into a BIW.

We'll have to see how ultium goes.

Unlikely that that would help as they claim even fast charging causes the problem, which is lower power than even a RWD version would be.

Good point on the DCFC. It appears to me that most of what is the Mach-e was originally intended to have performance similar to the Chevy Bolt, if for not rear wheel drive.

GM did indeed decide to grab market share and made a shitshow of the effort

They dropped the ball when they raised the base trim Bolt to 45k before subsidies when Tesla had battery supply issues in 2017.

Even Tesla didn’t raise the price of the Model 3 despite the supply issues which was 38k at the time.

I'd love to get a GV60 Performance but with the insane number of failures (9 at one dealer, 6 at another)... I'd wait until issues are resolved.

Thats my point...the regular Model Y walked it at highway speeds easily. A Model Y Performance would have eaten the GV60 for lunch.
