Just following up on this... I received a reply back from Tesla support after I asked them about the temperature spikes:
Apparently this is normal behavior, but it could explain why the cabin heats up more than expected. Seems to be part of the active thermal management of the batter, so if it keeps my battery alive longer, I suppose it's worth it.

Thank you for contacting Tesla! Please allow me to apologize for the delay in our response to this email. Your vehicle will activate the battery to run self-diagnostics through the day this activation can cause the cabin temperature to rise. Your vehicle will also cycle coolant to keep the battery at an even temperature as your vehicle is not in use. I have reviewed the remote diagnostics of your vehicle and there are no battery issues being reported.
