Car not asking for key to drive

So, I got a TESLA ring to unlock and drive car, and assigned it based on my key. To start with I would find it would need to be scanned on the console to start the car (as expected). Since the last update (.15) it has no longer asked for this. I can unlock, get in, hit brake to activate my driver profile and drive off.

Is this normal, or has something gone wrong with security?

Were you leaving it a bit longer before... If you unlock and then drive away quickly, it doesn't need that second scan on the console. Whereas if you wait a bit, it does.

Ah, I have been basically jumping in and going straight to drive. Maybe that's it.

I have the app on my phone, but not setup as a key.

Tested the time thing, and I sat in the car a bit, and still it started without key. I'll try a hard reset as doing it with both key card and ring. I have even tried turning off the keyless driving option...
