Just got my brand new refreshed model x washed for the first time. Took her to a reputable hand wash car wash. Exterior looked pristine! Opened the door to get in and there is a huge gouge in the driver seat. Did they have a knife in their pocket? The owner/manager owned the damaged and is using a reputable, local upholstery repair service to fix or replace the seat if not repairable. I’ve never dealt with seat damage. Think it will be noticeable post repair? Horrible thing to happen to a brand new vehicle.

I don't think you can repair perforated seating material. (Maybe you can but it would probably look like crap, and wear badly.) They will need to order a new seat cover, or entire seat, from Tesla. I assume it is a Plaid because of the perforations...
It looks like Tesla sells the lower cover part number 1608642-xx-x (Where the x's depend on your color.)
Of course, Tesla usually replaces the whole seat, so maybe getting just the cover takes a long time...

Update on this. I have an appointment to get the seat repaired next Thursday so I will update with pics so anyone in a similar situation can have a reference point. But the good news is that I had a service appointment for a loud fan noise coming from the same seat, it’s the fan for the ventilated seat. Tesla will be replacing the seat under warranty because of the fan issue. So no matter how the repair looks, the seat will be replaced in the coming weeks.
Here’s the photos of the repair. It looks way more noticeable in the photos. The repair is very good and had I not known there was damage it would probably fly under my radar. Spoke to Tesla about the issue and they said that the updated seats and significantly more prone to tears than previous years. So be careful with pets and kids and who you let drive your cars. The repair was done by Artistic Vinyl Repair in Cupertino. So if you Bay Area people need seats repaired these guys are very professional and do good work, check out their Instagram.
