Does anyone have access to carfax reports? I just wanted to ask before I pulled the trigger on $39 bucks for a single VIN. VIN # 5YJSA1AG0DFP11101

Thanks in advance if anyone is able to look up the details on this one!

Really cool websites! Curious, how does the option code lookup tool gather its information? Several of the VIN's that I entered don't show any options.

You have to pay (be a site supporter) to get cool features.

Not for the Option Code lookup tool. That's open to everyone. :)

Thanks. The option codes are available for any car that Tesla has listed for sale on their New/Inventory or Used/CPO websites. The listings include the option codes for each car (mostly hidden in the data stream), and the website collects and stores those codes.

If you enter other VINs from private sales, those won't show up, unfortunately. But if you can get the option code list for any car, you can plug those in to get them translated into the option code descriptions.

You can also use vininspect.com for a one time report. It's far cheaper at like $8. It gives you the same information as carfax, but also has title and auction history. The auction history obviously only applies if the car was ever totaled or sold at auction. Sometimes they have even scraped the original auction photos.

That will work perfectly then. I get hung up on Carfax's $40 single report.
